Shortlist of candidates for the new James Bond revealed
The tabloid Page Six has unveiled the list of frontrunners vying for the iconic role of the next James Bond.
Insiders suggest that Jack Barton (*Poor Things*) currently holds the strongest position. Following him in the rankings are Jacob Elordi, Paul Mescal, Harris Dickinson, Callum Turner, and Jack Lowden, with screen tests reportedly scheduled for September.
While the accuracy of this list remains unconfirmed, the 26th installment of the 007 franchise will be produced by Amazon MGM. Previously, producer Amy Pascal indicated that the identity of the new Bond would be officially announced before the end of the year.
The yet-to-be-titled project is set to be helmed by Denis Villeneuve (*Dune*), with the screenplay penned by *Peaky Blinders* creator Steven Knight. An official release date has not yet been disclosed.
