The first images of Avalanche’s cancelled title Contraband have surfaced online. Xbox officially shut the project down last month, and fans are now seeing, for the first time, what the game was intended to be.
Contraband was announced in 2021, and roughly three months after reports of its cancellation were confirmed, screenshots showing the user interface and several in-game elements leaked online.
The setting was planned for the 1970s, with a narrative built around smuggling and street clashes featuring powerful muscle cars. The discovered menus suggest the game would have offered career choices and character progression systems.
The shared images are primarily UI screenshots, but they still reveal the intended visual direction and hint at the possible structure of the gameplay.
