Sebastian Stan appears to have revealed his role in Matt Reeves’ upcoming film The Batman Part 2. Speaking to French publication Le Journal du Dimanche, Stan stated that he will portray Harvey Dent, the character better known as the villain Two-Face.

The actor mentioned the casting while discussing Marvel’s secrecy around Avengers: Doomsday, in which he reprises his role as Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier. As translated by Google Translate, Stan said, “I’ve been following this rule for fifteen years, I’m used to it. I also can’t say anything about The Batman: Part 2, by Matt Reeves, where I play Harvey Dent.”

Stan’s casting was confirmed in May along with Scarlett Johansson, though Reeves has not officially confirmed either actor’s role. Early rumors linked Stan to serial killer Victor Zsasz. Reports indicate Johansson may play Dent’s wife, Gilda, while Charles Dance has been connected to the role of his father, Charles Dent.

In DC lore, Dent begins as a crusading district attorney and ally to Bruce Wayne before suffering severe physical disfigurement, typically caused by acid thrown in his face. Several actors have portrayed the character in live action, including Billy Dee Williams in Batman, Tommy Lee Jones in Batman Forever, Aaron Eckhart in The Dark Knight, and Harry Lawtey in Joker: Folie à Deux.

The sequel brings back Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. According to Variety, Barry Keoghan may also return as the Joker. Warner Bros. initially scheduled the movie for October 2025, but The Batman Part 2 is now slated for release in theaters on Feb. 18, 2028.
