Samson Graphics Impress on Consoles with 60 FPS on Xbox Series X
Samson will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on September 21, 2026, featuring a 30 FPS quality mode and a 60 FPS performance mode, while the PlayStation 5 Pro version will offer the same modes with improved graphics.
Liquid Swords released its debut title on PC on April 8, receiving mixed reviews on Steam, partly due to high hardware requirements despite visuals that are impressive for an indie project.
On Xbox Series X, the game mostly maintains 60 FPS, with drops down to about 50 FPS occurring rarely, even during chase sequences. Samson operates at a native resolution of 1080p, which is then upscaled to 4K. In the 30 FPS mode, the console consistently holds the target frame rate.
On PlayStation 5 Pro, 30 FPS and 60 FPS modes are available with higher graphical settings than on the standard PlayStation 5. On Xbox Series S, the game runs exclusively at 30 FPS.
The developers are planning further updates and new content.
