The Stranger Things star will appear not only in Spider-Man: A New Day.
Actress Sadie Sink, who is working on Spider-Man: A New Day, is also set to appear in the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Deadline reports that Sink has joined the cast of Avengers: Secret Wars.
The report appeared in the Breaking Baz column, where journalist Baz Bamigboye covered Sink’s theatrical debut in Romeo and Juliet on the London stage.
“I understand that she will join the cast of the next Avengers film, which will be shot here in London in late 2026.”
While Baz did not explicitly name Secret Wars, his mention of filming in late 2026 rules out her involvement in Avengers: Judgment Day, whose principal photography has already wrapped and which is slated for release on December 18, 2026.
Secret Wars is expected to close out Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe — the so-called “multiverse saga” — after which Phase Seven and a new narrative cycle leading up to the next crossover will begin. That makes Secret Wars the only Avengers film Sink could realistically be shooting toward the end of next year.
The character Sink will portray remains a mystery. Although production on Spider-Man: A New Day is well underway, set photos of Sink have not clarified her role. She has been linked to several possibilities: Mayday Parker — an alternate-universe daughter of Peter Parker; Beetle — the daughter of Tombstone, who is said to appear in the film played by Marvin Jones III; or an alternate version of Mary Jane. Fans have also revived earlier whispers about her being considered for Jean Grey, though sources close to the project do not corroborate those claims.
It seems likely Marvel will keep her part tightly guarded, as they often do with pivotal characters in major crossovers. More details will probably surface closer to the release of Spider-Man: A New Day, scheduled for July 30, 2026.
