Downey is officially confirmed to play Doctor Doom in Avengers: Judgment Day, which is slated to premiere on December 18, 2026. In that context, the image featuring Iron Man fueled theories that the actor could portray two characters at once or even reappear as Tony Stark in forthcoming projects, including Secret Wars, whose production is expected to begin in 2026.
