Developer Fantastic Signals and publisher tinyBuild released an official story trailer for The Lift, an unusual first-person repair simulator focusing on narrative and supernatural events.
The Lift takes place in an abandoned research institute that was once one of humanity’s most advanced scientific facilities. After a catastrophic incident, the complex was effectively destroyed and now drifts in the void, gradually sinking into cosmic decay. Players assume the role of a caretaker tasked with restoring the institute and uncovering the circumstances behind what happened.
Core gameplay mechanics center around repairing and restoring rooms. Each floor turns into a separate large-scale project where players must fix furniture, restore electrical systems, lay cables, assemble electrical circuits, troubleshoot issues, and bring a wide variety of devices back to life. These devices include vending machines, generators, satellite dishes, and even a reactor. For more complex tasks, players can craft necessary tools and gradually expand their arsenal.
