Report Claims GTA VI Will Feature Story Progression Block
Players in GTA VI may need a specific amount of money to progress through the story, forcing them to run criminal enterprises between missions.
New details have leaked online regarding the structure of the main quests. If the characters do not have enough funds in their accounts, the progression of the story will pause temporarily until the player accumulates the required sum.
This mechanic will force players to make more active use of side criminal activities in Leonida. Instead of simply moving from one story mission to the next, players will have to pull off heists, rob local businesses, and complete side gigs to pay for the preparation required for the next stages of the story.

Money will function as more than just an optional resource, serving directly as part of the narrative.
