Pulp Fiction” Co-Writer to Direct AI Version of “Paradise Lost

Academy Award winner Roger Avary, renowned for co-writing the screenplay for Pulp Fiction, is embarking on an ambitious new project: a film adaptation of John Milton’s epic 1667 poem, “Paradise Lost.”

The production will prominently feature artificial intelligence in its creation. Backed by the studio Ex Machina, the film is set to be presented to potential buyers at the upcoming Cannes film market this May.

Milton’s “Paradise Lost” chronicles the biblical account of the creation of the world, centering on the figure of Satan as a fallen angel. Back in 2010, I, Robot director Alex Proyas had planned his own adaptation of the epic, which was slated to star Bradley Cooper and Casey Affleck. However, the project was ultimately scrapped by Legendary Pictures due to concerns over its substantial budget.
