Renowned In the Mood for Love auteur Wong Kar-wai is teaming up with acclaimed director Hiro Murai (The Bear) to develop a fresh television project for FX and Searchlight Television, according to Deadline.

The yet-to-be-titled crime drama centers on a small-time con artist, played by Havana Rose Liu, who unexpectedly inherits a significant stake in a powerful corporation. While the protagonist quickly adapts to a life of opulence, she soon discovers that her newfound status brings lethal consequences.

Production is set to take place in Bangkok, though an official release date has not yet been announced. The creative team also features writers Charles Yu (Westworld) and Julia Cho (Turning Red).

Wong Kar-wai conceived the original concept and will serve as an executive producer; his most recent directorial effort was the visually stunning series Blossoms Shanghai.

Murai, a recent Emmy winner for his masterful work on The Bear, has built a stellar reputation through his contributions to hit shows like Atlanta.
