PUBG: Black Budget Development Cancelled Before Release
Krafton never brought its new game to release.
The creators of PUBG: Black Budget recently announced the decision to halt further development of the extraction shooter.
The developers explained that after analyzing the current version and its future direction, they concluded that “the current course will not allow us to create a game that players can enjoy in the long term.”
The authors of PUBG: Black Budget expressed gratitude to everyone who participated in the game’s closed alpha tests and shared their feedback. According to PUBG Studios representatives, the experience gained during work on the project will be used in future projects.

PUBG: Black Budget was announced in late 2025. The extraction shooter was expected to have players search for artifacts on a mysterious island trapped in a time loop and gradually destroyed by an Anomaly.
Notably, PUBG: Black Budget managed to become one of the most wishlisted games on Steam. It ranked 29th on the wishlist chart, positioned between the medieval action strategy Chronicles: Medieval from Raw Power Games and the survival game Rooted from Headlight Studio.
