The developers have refined the AI and combat systems, and are now drawing new players into the project.
In December, studio Gamatron rolled out a substantial update for Songs of Syx and temporarily made the game free on Steam.
This is a city-building simulator set in a fantasy world, where you can build and rule a mighty empire.
Night gives way to day, climate and weather shift, and the migrations of animals and people follow their own course. Droughts and plagues, raids, traders and bandits, along with new discoveries, will drive the rise and fall of kingdoms and empires — with or without your interference. Everything you do spawns new, unique stories and worlds each time you begin a fresh game.
Combat is enormous in scale: battles can involve tens of thousands of units, each simulated by the system and consuming resources.
The promotional free access to Songs of Syx on Steam runs through December 8 (Monday); the game’s page can be found via the following link: Steam store page.
