During a Nintendo Direct broadcast on November 12, 2025, Nintendo and Illumination premiered an extended trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, confirming the film’s theatrical release for April 3, 2026. The teaser expands the movie’s roster — familiar faces such as Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, and Bowser appear alongside fresh on-screen incarnations of Rosalina and Bowser Jr.
Alongside the footage, the studios announced casting choices: Brie Larson will voice Rosalina and Benny Safdie will lend his voice to Bowser Jr. In the trailer we glimpse Rosalina commanding her signature wand and interacting with the Lumas, including a scene where she reads from a special book and confronts a mysterious mechanical threat. Bowser Jr. is shown both in a recognizable form and in an enhanced, possibly mechanized variant that hints at new cinematic stakes.
The trailer also teases a planet-hopping adventure, showing Peach and Toad joining the cosmic journey. Quick cuts suggest familiar locales from the Galaxy series will appear, rewarding attentive viewers with brief callbacks to classic environments.
