You’ve spun the vinyl countless times, belt out the title track with your closest friends, and likely spent years wishing you could have witnessed the magic of the album in a live setting. Now, as Pink Floyd marks the 50th anniversary of their legendary masterpiece Wish You Were Here, they are unveiling an unexpected tribute: an exclusive sportswear collaboration.
The prog-rock legends have joined forces with Italian football powerhouse Inter Milan and Sony Music Italy to revitalize the Pink Floyd Football Club (PFFC). This new capsule collection pays homage to the band’s own amateur football team, which they famously formed during their 1970s touring days.
The PFFC collection features several highly coveted, limited-run items. Highlights include a sophisticated “anthem jacket” (priced at $290.10)—a strictly limited run of 400 numbered garments that the Nerazzurri squad will debut before their match against Cagliari at San Siro on April 17. For dedicated fans, there is also a collector’s bundle featuring a signature T-shirt and an exclusive blue vinyl limited to just 1,908 pressings ($64.70), alongside a variety of retro jerseys, scarves, and accessories.
The aesthetic of the line draws inspiration from a classic portrait of the band captured by Kim Gottlieb-Walker. The standout retro jersey blends deep blues and crisp whites, proudly displaying the “PFFC” lettering—a nod to the original attire seen in that historic photograph. The garment is further elevated by the 50th-anniversary logo on the reverse, while the sleeves feature a fusion of the Inter crest and Pink Floyd’s iconic “burning man” handshake motif.
The full collection is available through the official Inter online store and select retail locations in Milan.
The legacy of Wish You Were Here remains as potent as ever. The album secured the U.K. Christmas No. 1 spot last year, half a century after its initial debut. Fans can also look forward to the upcoming Pink Floyd 8-Tracks compilation, arriving June 5, which curates defining hits from 1971–1979, including “Money,” “Time,” and a rare, full-length recording of “Pigs On The Wing.”
While the music endures, the band’s chapter appears closed. Following the release of their final studio album, The Endless River, David Gilmour confirmed to Classic Rock in 2015 that he had officially moved on from the project.
