Peacock Raises Subscription Prices After Turning a Profit

NBCUniversal is raising prices across all three tiers of its streaming service, Peacock. The change marks the fourth price hike for the platform in four years. The new rates take effect on Aug. 18 for new and returning subscribers, while existing members will see the increase on or after Sept. 17, depending on their billing cycle.

The revised pricing structure across the lineup is as follows:

• Peacock Select: $8.99 per month, up from $7.99
• Peacock Premium: $12.99 per month, up from $10.99
• Peacock Premium Plus: $19.99 per month, up from $16.99

Peacock Select serves as the entry tier, providing access to NBC and Bravo shows while leaving out original programming, films, and live sporting events. Peacock Premium includes ads along with live sports, movies, and originals, while Peacock Premium Plus offers an ad-free experience. Current programming on the platform includes films like The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Obsession, original series such as The Five-Star Weekend, and unscripted series like The Traitors and Love Island USA.

The rate adjustments arrive just over a year after Peacock’s July 2025 price increase, following earlier hikes in 2023 and 2024. The change also follows Peacock’s first profitable quarter during the second quarter of 2026. According to Ars Technica, the platform posted $189 million in adjusted EBITDA, added 2 million subscribers to reach a total of 48 million, expanded subscription revenue by over 50%, and grew advertising revenue by nearly 70%.

Peacock reflects broader market trends across digital entertainment. Competitors such as Netflix, HBO Max, Apple TV, and Paramount+ have all raised their subscription costs in recent years to improve streaming profitability. For Peacock subscribers, the latest price adjustments continue a consistent annual pattern.
