Patch 1.6.2f1 – Autumn Breeze

Greetings, Mayors!
Update 1.6.2f1 is officially live, introducing a robust suite of refinements to core mechanics—including smarter waste management routing, more nuanced citizen financial habits, and optimized commercial property leasing. This patch also delivers polish to the user interface, the Asset Editor, and Paradox Mods, alongside visual enhancements like superior tree Level of Detail (LOD) rendering, rectified water dynamics, and much more.
Please note that this update refreshes the underlying UI framework, which may cause compatibility hiccups with a small number of existing community modifications. Rest assured, legacy save files remain fully compatible and will load without issue.
Gameplay Adjustments
- Optimized Garbage Truck Routing: Sanitation vehicles now calculate cargo capacities with greater precision, bypassing lightly littered bins to preserve space. This ensures trucks reach their primary disposal sites before overflowing mid-route.
- Elevated Sanitation Impact: Accumulated garbage now exerts a more pronounced influence on overall citizen contentment.
- Refined Commercial Leasing: Businesses addressing the city’s most critical resource shortages now receive top priority when acquiring properties, halting lower-priority enterprises from snapping up vacant spaces prematurely.
- Balanced Residential Demand: Calculations for housing demand now factor in overall city scale, resolving an issue where sprawling metropolises suffered from artificially stagnant residential growth.
- Income-Driven Citizen Behavior: Happiness, shopping excursions, and recreational choices are now dictated by personal income rather than accumulated wealth. Because current wealth is an unreliable metric of daily financial health, income serves as a much more accurate baseline.
- Graduated Adulthood Transitions: Young adults reaching maturity no longer instantly vacate their family homes, eliminating unnatural gaps in the demographic pyramid. Newly minted adults will now delay moving out until they secure financially viable housing.
- Vehicle Abandonment Fixes: Resolved various bugs that left unattended cars stranded indefinitely at transit terminals or lingering behind after a household relocation.
- Streamlined Parking Retrieval: Vehicles no longer teleport to external highway connections when despawned due to a lack of local parking, eliminating unnecessary return trips.
- Office Import Restorations: Commercial offices can once again seamlessly import software licenses from outside connections.
- Local Mail Recovery: Fixed a glitch where utilizing the Post Office Sorting upgrade inadvertently blocked local mail imports, starving buildings of the correspondence they required.
- Unstuck Itinerants: Eliminated a pathfinding bug that caused unhoused citizens attempting coordinated family travel to freeze in place.
- Flexible Demolition: Players can now demolish or reposition structures even if their removal creates minor, harmless overlaps with adjacent buildings or roadways.
User Interface
- Coherent Gameface Upgrade: Updated to version 2.2.1 to guarantee long-term stability and platform support (may affect a small selection of mods).
- Toolbar Polishing: Adjusted icon dimensions and padding to eliminate uneven scaling and awkward gaps across the main toolbar.
- Isometric Redesigns: Several icons have been redrawn in an isometric perspective to improve visual harmony throughout the HUD.
- Aesthetic Tweaks: Applied subtle enhancements to icon coloration and fine details.
- Encyclopedia Expansion: Added a dedicated sub-chapter detailing the Texture Painting Tools.
- Upkeep Transparency: The Selected Info Panel’s upkeep tab now accurately reflects how service budgets influence local wages.
- Precise Policy Sliders: Fixed a rounding discrepancy where policy sliders applied slightly different numerical values than what was visually displayed.
- UI Responsiveness: Prevented a rare freeze condition triggered by multiple error prompts appearing simultaneously.
- Updated Previews: Refreshed thumbnail and preview assets for revised maps.
Visual Enhancements
- Terrain Texturing: The Waterway Pass and Lakeland maps feature newly painted terrain textures and enhanced detailing.
- Surface Normals: Adjusted surface normals to ensure in-game lighting interacts naturally with terrain contours.
- LOD Optimization: Upgraded the visual quality and rendering performance of tree LOD assets.
- Interior Window Illumination: Fixed nighttime window lighting for assets designed to remain permanently lit or dark. Interiors now correctly display active, inactive, or simulated lighting states.
- Fluid Dynamics: Corrected underlying parameters governing water flow visuals.
- Nighttime Moonlighting: Restored moonlight shadow-casting during nighttime hours, which was inadvertently disabled in a previous patch.
Performance & Miscellaneous
- Asset Optimization: Numerous assets have been rebuilt with superior, high-performance LOD hierarchies.
- Smart LOD Selection: Implemented more intelligent thresholds for LOD level switching to boost framerates.
- Simulation Tweaks: Performed minor under-the-hood optimizations for overall simulation speed.
- Memory Efficiency: Reduced overall memory footprint during active play.
- Wind Simulation: Streamlined the performance overhead of wind calculations.
- New Flora: Added the European Spruce tree to the available botanical roster.

- Offline Management: The active playset is now correctly displayed when launching Paradox Mods without an internet connection, alongside restored offline mod management capabilities.
- Missing Comments: Restored comment sections on mod pages that utilized non-standard forum link structures.
- Loading Hangs: Fixed rare instances where the loading animation would freeze indefinitely upon booting up Paradox Mods in-game.
