The Sonic the Hedgehog cinematic universe could expand far beyond the main films about the blue hero.
Well-known film insider MyTimeToShineHello posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Paramount is “officially developing a Shadow movie,” and that the studio also wants a project focused on Amy.
The ending of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 lays the groundwork for such speculation. In one scene, Sonic is ambushed by Metal Sonic units near New York and is rescued by Amy Rose, while a post-credits sequence reveals that Shadow survived the film’s events—leaving room for his return in future projects.
Paramount has not issued any official announcements yet, but insider Daniel Richtman recently reported that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will draw heavily from Sonic CD, will properly introduce Amy Rose, and will involve time travel.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is scheduled to premiere on March 19, 2027.
