Overwatch Season 2 patch notes arrive with a comprehensive suite of adjustments, balancing legacy heroes alongside the game’s newest additions. Soldier: 76 finally masters a long-awaited maneuver after a decade of service. Lifeweaver’s long-anticipated rework shows promise in its initial outing, while Mercy’s core healing output sees a slight reduction to offset the permanent integration of Flash Heal.
A major focal point of this season is the significant overhaul for Roadhog. Previously, his Chain Hook’s rapid cooldown allowed skilled players to effortlessly delete supports and squishy damage-dealers in a continuous loop. Combined with his selfish kit design, he had become an increasingly frustrating presence on the battlefield. This season, those balance issues are being addressed directly.
Blizzard has also implemented vital quality-of-life updates to the Stadium ranked experience. The previous “hard reset” at the start of each season has been retired in favor of a more player-friendly rank decay system. Furthermore, Ramattra makes his grand entrance into Stadium this season, accompanied by a refreshed set of equipment options for Juno that maximize the utility of her Mediblaster and Hyper Ring.

Overwatch Season 2: Stadium Patch Notes
Ramattra headlines the Stadium roster this season. Additionally, Blizzard is fine-tuning underutilized hero builds to broaden tactical variety, with specific focus on making Vendetta and Juno more competitive.
Stadium Ranked Changes
Rank resets are no longer absolute. Players will now experience rank decay rather than a full reset, meaning you will start a few divisions lower than your previous season’s finish. The goal is to make climbing back to your previous tier feel like a natural progression rather than a repetitive grind.
- Contender: Start from Novice (5 Divisions down).
- Elite: Start from Contender (5 Divisions down).
- Pro: Start from Elite (5 Divisions down).
- All Star: Start from Elite (10 Divisions down).
- Legend: Start from Elite (15 Divisions down).
