Epic Games and Blizzard Entertainment have officially unveiled a massive upcoming collaboration, bringing the iconic world of Overwatch into Fortnite. Starting tomorrow, May 14, players can dive into this crossover event, which introduces legendary hero outfits for Tracer, Genji, D.Va, and Mercy.
The Fortnite island is set for a transformation, incorporating recognizable landmarks inspired by fan-favorite Overwatch maps, including Hanamura, the Busan Drum Pavilion, King’s Row, and various Watchpoints. The loot pool is also receiving a thematic overhaul with the addition of hero-specific gear like Mercy’s Caduceus Staff and Tracer’s Pulse Pistols. Notably, equipping the Pulse Pistols grants a unique first-person perspective, adding a fresh tactical layer to the battle royale experience. While the update includes nods to classic Overwatch elements like payloads and loot-filled caches, the developers have clarified that traditional loot boxes will not be making their way into the game.

The “Zero Build” mode is also receiving substantial updates alongside this event. Players can look forward to infinite sprinting while wielding a pickaxe, refreshed starting loadouts, the introduction of overshield siphon mechanics, and a suite of new utility items to shake up the gameplay.
