Production has started on season 3 of Netflix’s The Gentlemen, and the show has announced several new cast members. Guy Ritchie’s action-comedy-crime drama stars Theo James. Its new additions include two members of The Fellowship of the Ring.

Netflix announced that Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom are joining the season 3 cast. Wood and Bloom are best known for playing Frodo Baggins and Legolas in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings film trilogy. Both returned for The Hobbit movies, but they appeared in different entries and never shared the screen. The Gentlemen will be the first time they have worked together since the trilogy ended with 2003’s The Return of the King.

Robert Carlyle is the other major name joining season 3. The Scottish actor is probably best known for Trainspotting. He has also starred in television shows such as Once Upon a Time and Stargate: Universe.

Viewers may have a long wait. Season 2 of The Gentlemen was released this September, and the first two seasons arrived two years apart. Based on that gap, season 3 likely won’t arrive until 2028.

Elijah Wood will play Frodo again, and Ian McKellen returns as Gandalf. Jamie Dornan, known for Fifty Shades of Grey, will play Aragorn in place of Viggo Mortensen. The cast also includes Anya Taylor-Joy, Kate Winslet and Leo Woodall.

The film is set for release on Dec. 17, 2027. Tolkien fans have something sooner. The next season of Amazon’s Rings of Power premieres on Nov. 11, just a couple of weeks away.
