No Rest For The Wicked 1.0 Launch Delayed To March 2027

Moon Studios, the celebrated developer behind Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, has announced a delay for its ambitious dark action-RPG, No Rest for the Wicked. Although the studio recently pinned down an October release window following a successful PC early access phase, the official 1.0 rollout has now been pushed back.

The full release is officially rescheduled for March 2027. In a video developer update, Creative Director Thomas Mahler shared that exhaustive playtesting revealed the game is simply “not quite there yet.” The extra time will allow the team to heavily optimize performance, refine the class mechanics, and deliver overarching polish.

To help fine-tune the experience before launch, a final closed beta test is scheduled for December. This will give dedicated players one last chance to stress-test the game and offer invaluable feedback. In light of the delay, Moon Studios has extended the availability of the exclusive Founder’s Pack. Early access supporters now have until January 1, 2027, to claim the bundle, while PlayStation 5 users will be able to secure it when console pre-orders open this coming January.

First unveiled at The Game Awards in December 2023, No Rest for the Wicked landed on PC early access in April 2024 and even graced the cover of Game Informer magazine. Set within a grim fantasy realm, the adventure tasks players with cleansing a remote island consumed by a dark plague. Drawing inspiration from genre titans like Diablo and Dark Souls, the game uniquely blends punishing combat and dungeon crawling with community restoration mechanics, allowing players to rebuild settlements between excursions. The experience supports solo play as well as seamless four-player online co-op.

When No Rest for the Wicked officially debuts next March, it will launch on PC and PlayStation 5, with subsequent releases planned for Xbox Series X/S and the successor to the Nintendo Switch at a later date.
