No Doubt guitarist Tom Dumont has shared a vulnerable health update with his fanbase, revealing his diagnosis of early-onset Parkinson’s disease.

In a heartfelt video posted to Instagram this Saturday, the 58-year-old musician candidly discussed the challenges he has navigated since receiving the diagnosis. “I started noticing symptoms several years ago,” Dumont explained. “After consulting with my doctor and a neurologist, I underwent extensive testing and was eventually diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s. It has been a daily struggle, but one I am facing head-on.”

Dumont, who has been a staple of No Doubt since 1988, noted that he has spent recent months immersing himself in preparations for the band’s highly anticipated residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere, scheduled to begin on May 6.

“The process of prepping for our Sphere shows has been deeply therapeutic,” he shared. “Rediscovering old photographs, revisiting our catalog, and crafting visuals for the residency has sparked a profound sense of gratitude. I am incredibly thankful for the life I’ve been able to lead as a musician, and for the unwavering support from our families, friends, and the fans who have stood by us over the decades.”

Despite the diagnosis, Dumont confirmed he remains committed to the band’s upcoming performances at the 17,600-capacity venue, with dates currently booked through mid-June. He also intends to release further content detailing his symptoms and his personal health journey.

“The silver lining is that I am still able to play guitar,” he added. “I’ve been encouraged by so many others in the community who have used their platforms to discuss their health battles. Sharing my own experience is about helping to dismantle the stigma surrounding the disease and raising awareness, which is vital for ongoing research.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, early-onset Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition affecting mood, cognition, and movement. While various therapies and lifestyle adjustments can help manage symptoms, the American Parkinson Disease Association notes that a cure remains elusive.

Dumont concluded his message with optimism, stating, “I am genuinely excited for these shows and cannot wait to connect with everyone in the crowd.”

The guitarist’s bandmates were quick to offer their public support. Drummer Adrian Young commented, “My friend, bandmate, and hero… I love you, brother,” while bassist Tony Kanal shared, “Love you beyond words, my friend. I’m looking forward to getting on that stage with you again.”
