Rod Stewart Cancels North American Farewell Tour Following Heart Procedure: ‘Deeply Disappointed to Miss These Shows’

Legendary singer Rod Stewart has been forced to halt the remainder of his North American “One Last Time” farewell tour after undergoing a successful, routine coronary stent procedure.

The 81-year-old music icon was scheduled to take the stage at Ohio’s Riverbend Music Center, but pulled out at the eleventh hour due to what representatives described in an official press release as an unforeseen yet minor medical intervention.

Following the medical procedure, management confirmed the cancellation of his upcoming performances. This included a weekend slot at the Morton Amphitheater in Kansas City, Missouri, a scheduled appearance at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, alongside stops across Minnesota, Illinois, Colorado, and a highly anticipated series of dates in Mexico.

In a separate statement shared with the press, his medical team noted that the artist is recovering well. “Following strict medical advice, he will take the next four weeks to recuperate and regain his full physical stamina before stepping back into the spotlight. Regrettably, this necessitates the cancellation of his immediate concert schedule.”

Reaching out directly to his dedicated fanbase via social media, Stewart expressed optimism, sharing that he is already feeling much stronger and on the mend. He added that while missing these live dates brings him profound disappointment, he eagerly anticipates reuniting with his audiences soon.

Earlier this year, in a candid conversation with TalkSport, Stewart hinted that his upcoming 2027 U.K. dates would likely mark the definitive conclusion of his extensive touring career. “I’ll wrap up the U.K. run next year, hitting venues like The O2, and that will probably be the grand finale,” he remarked.

Boasting a remarkable career spanning more than six decades—both as a celebrated solo artist and as a driving force behind the Faces and the Jeff Beck Group—Stewart launched his expansive farewell trek in 2024. His illustrious catalog remains anchored by timeless Billboard Hot 100 smashes, including 1970s chart-toppers like “Maggie May,” “Tonight’s the Night (Gonna Be Alright),” “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?”, and his unforgettable 1994 collaboration alongside Sting and Bryan Adams, “All for Love.”
