Sombr chipped his tooth while taking a sip from a water bottle during his concert at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

During the set, the musician, born Shane Boose, asked for a fan’s phone so he could check his appearance with its selfie camera. “Oh, s–t! I chipped my tooth again!” he said after examining his mouth. “I’m so happy to inform all of you that ‘Thombr’ has returned.”

Sombr has chipped his tooth multiple times before, including while singing “Back to Friends” in March 2025. He posted a TikTok video of that incident, in which he lost a chunk of enamel. The song reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, and fans have continued to embrace his “Thombr” alter ego.

Previous injuries occurred while he was performing or jumping forcefully, but Tuesday’s incident happened differently. “I was just going over to take a sip of my water bottle,” he explained, smiling. “I bang it on my tooth, and I chip my tooth. Make some noise for me. I’m really tough. Rock star.”

He showed his smile to the big-screen cameras, revealing that his top left incisor was noticeably shorter and more uneven than his right.

Sombr is on his You Are the Reason Tour, with dates scheduled through summer 2027. His debut album, I Barely Know Her, reached No. 10 on the Billboard 200.
