Nicolas Winding Refn’s “Copenhagen Cowboy” Gets International Release Date

NEON has confirmed the official release date for “Her Private Hell,” the latest feature from “Drive” director Nicolas Winding Refn. The film is slated to arrive in U.S. theaters on July 24.

Exponenta is set to handle the distribution in Russia, with a specific release date to be announced later. The film will hold its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this May as an out-of-competition screening.

Plot details remain under wraps, though rumors suggest the story unfolds in a mysterious metropolis terrorized by a serial killer known as the “Leather Man.” The antagonist targets actresses staying at a local hotel while in town to film a project reminiscent of “Barbarella.”

The star-studded cast includes Sophie Thatcher, Havana Rose Liu, Charles Melton, Kristine Froseth, Diego Calva, Dougray Scott, and others. This marks Refn’s return to feature-length cinema following 2016’s “The Neon Demon.” Since then, the director has focused on television, helming the Prime Video miniseries “Too Old to Die Young” and Netflix’s “Copenhagen Cowboy.”
