ABC has officially greenlit a second season of the revived “Scrubs” sitcom, according to recent media reports.
The reboot premiered late in February, featuring the return of original cast members, most notably Zach Braff. Bill Lawrence, the creative force behind the hit series “Ted Lasso,” serves as the show’s creator once again.
The story follows a more mature J.D. (Braff) and Chris Turk (Donald Faison) as they navigate their return to Sacred Heart Hospital. There, the duo must contend with a new generation of Gen Z colleagues and the ever-present weight of modern bureaucracy.
The first season, comprised of nine episodes, was met with critical acclaim, securing an 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The sitcom also resonated strongly with American audiences, racking up 11 million views within its first month of broadcast.
