New Details Emerge on the Big Little Lies Sequel

Details have surfaced regarding the successor to the original Big Little Lies novel. Australian author Liane Moriarty is set to release a new book titled “Big Little Truths.”

The plot of this upcoming novel is expected to serve as the foundation for the third season of the hit HBO series starring Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon. The story picks up a decade after the events of the first book. The core group of mothers finds themselves contending with a sinister new threat: Melody, a charming history teacher instructing their teenage children. Under the guise of an internship program, she facilitates encounters between the most promising students and her husband, Seth, who is a predator.

HBO officially renewed Big Little Lies for a third season in September 2025. Due to the demanding schedules of the star-studded cast, production is not slated to commence until 2028.

The first season premiered in 2017, followed by a second installment in 2019. Set in the coastal town of Monterey, the narrative centered on a circle of mothers inextricably linked to a mysterious murder. The ensemble cast also featured Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz, Alexander Skarsgård, and Meryl Streep.
