Netflix’s Fourth Season of “The Witcher” Will Be the Shortest

On October 30, The Witcher returns with new episodes and a new Geralt. Viewers should expect several changes they’ll adapt to quickly, since the season’s total runtime is shorter than previous installments.

It is 51 minutes shorter than the longest season.

According to What’s on Netflix, the combined runtime of the fourth season is 427 minutes, spread across 8 episodes. The full episode list with titles and runtimes:

  • Episode 1, “What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger”: 58 minutes
  • Episode 2, “Dream of a Wish Fulfilled”: 60 minutes
  • Episode 3, “Trial by Fire”: 51 minutes
  • Episode 4, “A Sermon on Survival”: 54 minutes
  • Episode 5, “The Joy of Cooking”: 55 minutes
  • Episode 6, “Twilight of the Wolf”: 48 minutes
  • Episode 7, “What I Love, I Do Not Carry”: 50 minutes
  • Episode 8, “Baptism by Fire”: 51 minutes

By comparison, the previous seasons ran 478, 458, and 451 minutes respectively. The new instalment will be noticeably shorter, even though the episode count stays the same — each season adapting Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels contains eight episodes.
