Netflix Launches ‘Manifest’ Spin-off with New Story and Characters

Netflix has officially commissioned a spin-off of the hit series “Manifest,” titled Arrivals: A New Manifest Mystery. While set within the established universe of the original show, the series will introduce an entirely fresh storyline and a new ensemble cast. The project was unveiled on August 28th—a date chosen for its symbolic connection to the enigmatic Flight 828 from the original series.

The plot centers on a baffling plane disappearance in Denver. The passengers emerge from the aircraft with no recollection of their identities, their origins, or how they ended up on the flight. A dedicated social worker and a junior Department of Homeland Security official join forces with the survivors to avert a global catastrophe that threatens the future of humanity. As they delve deeper into the investigation, the protagonists realize they are intrinsic components of the very mystery they are desperate to solve.

The creative vision for the series is spearheaded by “Manifest” creator Jeff Rake, alongside former executive producers Margaret Easley and Laura Putney. Serving as co-creators and showrunners, the team ensures the spin-off remains faithful to the thematic DNA of the original franchise.

A premiere date for Arrivals has yet to be announced.
