Modder Adds Requested Combat Mechanic to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced
Due to the specific implementation of the mechanic, hand-to-hand combat requires a melee weapon.
Released in July on consoles and PC, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced pleased many players by adding new content, updating parkour, combat, and other gameplay mechanics.
With the recent 1.0.6 update, players gained the ability to hide the blowpipe. Many requested this feature, but Ubisoft Entertainment has not yet implemented all player wishes. A modder known as kamzik123 decided to take matters into their own hands and independently added hand-to-hand combat to the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake.

Due to technical limitations, the main character must still hold a weapon in order to fight unarmed. The modder explained that Edward Kenway needs to equip Officer Small Swords to switch to “unarmed combat.” Sword execution animations will still be used for finishing moves.
The “Unarmed Combat” mod for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is available for free on Nexus Mods.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced holds a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam, with a 79% approval rating based on 26,000 reviews. Ubisoft Entertainment plans to release further updates for the game, with a new “New Game+” mode expected.
