Mel Gibson Reveals Plot Details for Lethal Weapon 5

In a recent interview with Collider, actor and director Mel Gibson provided an update on the long-awaited fifth installment of the iconic Lethal Weapon franchise.

According to Gibson, the project’s momentum may finally pick up following the anticipated merger between Paramount and Warner Bros.

Richard Wenk and I finished the screenplay, and we were all set to begin production, but we just couldn’t get it off the ground. I believe Warner Bros. was caught in a bit of a quagmire at the time… Everything stalled, but now that David Ellison from Paramount is moving to acquire Warner Bros., it feels like the project might finally be unshackled.
