Margaret Qualley’s “The Possession” Remake Gets Release Date
Paramount Pictures has slated the release of its upcoming remake of the horror classic “Possession” for June 11, 2027, according to industry reports.
The reimagined feature boasts an ensemble cast including Margaret Qualley (“The Substance”), Callum Turner, Paul Dano, Diego Calva, and Nicholas Alexander Chavez. The project is being written and directed by Parker Finn, the visionary behind the “Smile” franchise.
The original 1981 cult horror film was directed by Polish filmmaker Andrzej Żuławski. Set in West Berlin, the story chronicled the harrowing breakdown of a marriage between a secret agent (Sam Neill) and his wife (Isabelle Adjani). The narrative was famously inspired by Żuławski’s own tumultuous personal life and his relationship with actress Małgorzata Braunek.
