Magicians: The Devil’s Deal Is a First-Person Action Game Inspired by Dishonored

While digital sorcery in gaming usually leans into high-fantasy archetypes—think the classic wizardry of Baldur’s Gate 3 or the ethereal, mythical manifestations seen in South of Midnight—we rarely get to step into the shoes of a traditional stage performer. Enter Magicians: The Devil’s Deal, a refreshing departure that puts you in control of a refined spellcaster armed with little more than a white-tipped wand, a deck of playing cards, and, quite possibly, a hat concealing a rabbit. Catch the debut trailer below:
The first-person perspective, coupled with the moody, late-19th-century aesthetic, evokes the spirit of Dishonored. It balances a steampunk-adjacent atmosphere with a thick, unmistakable coat of arcane mystery. According to the developers, the narrative unfolds across the otherworldly realms of “Theatreland,” where your objective is to rise as the supreme trickster. However, such formidable power rarely comes without a heavy price, and it seems our protagonist’s newfound abilities are the direct result of a pact struck with the devil himself.
Developed by the team at Uppercut Games and published by Focus Entertainment, Magicians: The Devil’s Deal is slated for a 2027 release. It will launch as an Xbox exclusive and will be available on Game Pass from day one.
