Mafia III Receives Surprise 60 FPS Update for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, Free for Current Owners

Fans of gripping crime dramas rejoice: 2K Games has unexpectedly deployed a dedicated PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S patch for Mafia III. This fresh update introduces a buttery-smooth 60 frames-per-second performance mode alongside a suite of technical enhancements. Best of all, players who already own the title on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One can download the upgrade completely free of charge. For newcomers looking to dive into the underworld, the publisher has discounted the game by an impressive 80% across digital storefronts.

In tandem with this release, 2K announced the launch of Mafia III: Definitive Edition for current-gen systems. This comprehensive bundle packages the foundational campaign together with every major narrative expansion—including Faster, Baby!, Stones Unturned, and Sign of the Times—alongside the Family Kick-Back Pack and the Judge, Jury, & Executioner Weapons Pack. Furthermore, this definitive package is featured prominently in the newly debuted Mafia: The Omerta Collection, which unites the entire franchise saga, spanning Mafia, Mafia II, Mafia III, and Mafia: The Old Country.
