LISA Calls Her ‘Fortnite’ Collab a ‘Little Love Letter’ to ‘Part of Her Family’
LISA Debuts as Fortnite Festival Season 12 Icon — A Personal, Cat-Inspired Collaboration
Launch date: Saturday, Nov. 29 — Starlux Music Pass

LISA will headline Fortnite Festival season 12 as an Icon, arriving on Saturday, Nov. 29 as part of the Starlux Music Pass. Her collaboration includes an in‑game headline performance, a capsule of outfits and accessories, and Jam Tracks featuring selections from her solo album, Alter Ego.
“I’m always seeking playful, fresh ways to connect with fans, and I adore when music, gaming and fashion collide,” LISA told Billboard. “Fortnite is the ideal stage for that. I loved designing outfits inspired by the characters on my album Alter Ego and making everything feel personal and authentic.”
Fresh off a guest role as hotel employee Mook in season three of HBO’s The White Lotus, LISA was closely involved in the collaboration’s creative direction. Fans may have spotted a heartfelt nod in the season trailer that premiered on Nov. 24.
“When Fortnite asked what I wanted from the collab, I immediately thought of my cats,” she explained. “My pets are a huge part of my life, so the Back Bling is a little love letter to Louis — my way of bringing family into Fortnite.” In the trailer, LISA’s cat rides on her back while she cruises on a motorcycle and performs on the main stage.
She praised the imaginative ways artists tailor their Fortnite tie‑ins, calling out peers who’ve added personal touches: “I love seeing people bring something of themselves into the game.” She noted Ariana Grande’s inclusion of her pet Piggy Smallz during the Rift Tour collaboration, which was featured in 2021. LISA described her hands‑on role in the project, from art direction to song choices. “For the music I wanted a balanced mix from Alter Ego,” she said, noting selections chosen for attitude, confidence and mood. She also confirmed that real choreography informed several emotes — the FUTW and Rockstar emotes mirror moves from the album’s videos, and the Rockstar emote even includes a motorcycle.
Reflecting on the creative freedom Fortnite offers, she added, “What I love is that you can build anything. I wanted to show the bold spirit of Alter Ego in this collab. The FUTW emote was a highlight — adding flash accents made each move feel electric.”
Although LISA is the first BLACKPINK member to become a Fortnite Festival Icon, she expressed a wish to see her bandmates join — perhaps even as a full group. “Those are my girls — it would be amazing to have all of us in Fortnite,” she said.
