Johnny Cage Chooses His Destiny in the New Mortal Kombat 2 Trailer
Warner Bros. has unveiled the highly anticipated trailer for Mortal Kombat 2 as part of the IGN Fan Fest 2026 showcase.
Warner Bros. has officially released the first look at Mortal Kombat 2, the high-stakes sequel to the 2021 cinematic reboot of the legendary fighting game franchise.
The narrative shifts its focus to a climactic showdown involving Earthrealm’s greatest champions. Joined by the fan-favorite Johnny Cage, the heroes must unite to dismantle the tyrannical reign of Shao Kahn and prevent the total annihilation of their world.
Several cast members return to reprise their iconic roles, including Lewis Tan (Cole Young), Hiroyuki Sanada (Scorpion), Jessica McNamee (Sonya Blade), Josh Lawson (Kano), Ludi Lin (Liu Kang), Mehcad Brooks (Jax), Tadanobu Asano (Raiden), and Chin Han (Shang Tsung). Joining the roster are Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, and Damon Herriman as Quan Chi.
Director Simon McQuoid returns to helm the project, working from a screenplay penned by Jeremy Slater.
Mortal Kombat 2 is scheduled to begin its international theatrical rollout on May 6, 2026, arriving two days ahead of its North American debut.
