The filmmakers are continuing to share material ahead of the release of the final part of the trilogy.

WaterTower Music has released “Desert Chant,” the first track from the soundtrack of Dune: Part Three, recorded by Hans Zimmer together with Timothée Chalamet. The track opens with a quiet chant from the actor who plays Paul Atreides, which gradually grows into a battle song.

According to Zimmer, working on Dune takes him back to his teenage impressions of Frank Herbert’s novel, which he shares with director Denis Villeneuve:

“I sincerely believe that Denis and I never stopped seeing the dreams the book ignited in us as teenagers. But now, after working on several films, we have mastered the craft and gained the knowledge that allow us to bring the images from our imagination into reality.”
Hans Zimmer

The third Dune film is based on the novel Dune Messiah and will conclude Villeneuve’s trilogy. The story is set 17 years after the previous film. Paul Atreides, now Muad’Dib, must face the consequences of the Fremen jihad and a conspiracy forming behind his back.

Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Javier Bardem, and Jason Momoa return to their roles. Anya Taylor-Joy plays the grown-up Alia Atreides, and Robert Pattinson plays Scytale.

Dune: Part Three opens internationally on December 18, 2026.
