Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain and Star Trek star Chris Pine are set to lead the upcoming cinematic adaptation This Is Pleasure, according to industry reports.
The project is based on the acclaimed novella by Mary Gaitskill, the author of Secretary. The narrative revolves around Margo (Chastain), a high-profile book editor who is blindsided by sexual misconduct allegations leveled against her longtime friend, Quin. As she processes the accusations, Margo is forced to confront her own complicated feelings and navigate a profound moral quandary.
The film will be helmed by the filmmaking duo Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, best known for American Splendor. In addition to their starring roles, both Chastain and Pine will serve as producers on the feature. A confirmed release window has not yet been announced.
