Legendary Japanese film actor Tatsuya Nakadai has passed away at the age of 92, according to media reports.
Nakadai was born in Tokyo in 1932. He launched his career on the theatrical stage in the years after World War II and became celebrated for his work with directors such as Akira Kurosawa (Ran) and Masaki Kobayashi (The Human Condition), among others.
This week the distributor “Inoekino” will release Kurosawa’s epic Ran in Russia, in which Nakadai delivers the film’s leading performance.
