Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis is set to take center stage in a modern reimagining of the iconic mystery series Murder, She Wrote. Universal Pictures has officially launched the project with Jason Moore at the helm as director, while the screenwriting duo of Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo will craft the script.
The original television classic, which famously starred Angela Lansbury, enjoyed a prolific run from 1986 to 1994, cementing its status as a cornerstone of American procedural drama. The story follows Jessica Fletcher, a celebrated mystery novelist whose razor-sharp intellect and keen observational skills allow her to solve complex real-life crimes that stump the authorities.
This new production marks Hollywood’s inaugural attempt to revisit and revitalize the legendary franchise for a contemporary audience.
