Benelux Rework: Meet the Euro Truck Simulator 2 Team

SCS Software has introduced the team working on Project Benelux for Euro Truck Simulator 2. The rework covers Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, one of the older regions of the ETS2 map, and SCS describes the project as a rebuild from scratch rather than a light visual refresh.

What SCS confirmed

The March 2025 team post presents eight people currently highlighted on the Benelux rework team. The earlier project announcement explains the wider goal: rebuilding the region with modern map standards, new and reworked cities, updated road networks, landmarks, depots and scenery specific to the area.

Why the Benelux rework matters

Benelux is compact, but it is one of the densest areas in Euro Truck Simulator 2. SCS points to complex highways, waterways, canals, dams, locks, drawbridges, ports, flat northern terrain and the Ardennes landscape in Belgium and Luxembourg. That makes the work more than a texture update: it changes routes, city layouts, delivery points and the way the region feels during long hauls.

Team notes

The official post names designers working on cities and regions such as Liege, Amsterdam, IJmuiden, Brussels, Rotterdam, Luxembourg and the Ardennes. It also mentions custom depots for the project, a feature previously associated with American Truck Simulator that SCS is bringing into the ETS2 Benelux work.
