Insider Reports The Punisher: Final Kill May Get a Sequel

Marvel is exploring different options for developing the story of Frank Castle.

Marvel Studios is considering a follow-up to the special “The Punisher: Final Kill”, though it has not yet decided on the format for the project. According to insider Daniel Richtman, the studio is deciding whether the new story will become a feature film or a television series.

The special, which was released in May 2026, set up a new chapter in Frank Castle’s story ahead of his appearance in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”. At the end of “Final Kill”, the Punisher abandons his obsession with revenge and transforms into a more traditional hero who fights crime and protects people. The new project, if it receives a green light, could continue this version of the character.

Additionally, Richtman reported that Marvel is working on another detective special that could grow into a full series if successful. The project was previously described as a crime story in the vein of “True Detective”, but plot and character details have not yet been disclosed.
