Ichiban Takes the Wheel — Unexpected Crossover Confirmed in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
During the latest livestream, the developers revealed that Ichiban — the protagonist from the Yakuza / Like a Dragon series — will be added to the game on November 6, 2025.
A special festival tied to this character will run from November 7 to 10, during which players can earn exclusive rewards. This content is part of the regular update cycle — which recently welcomed Joker — and Hatsune Miku is planned for a future rollout, though no release date has been announced.
Interestingly, the Yakuza creators initially had reservations about whether Ichiban would fit into the bright, chaotic world of Sonic Racing. In the end they agreed to the crossover, allowing players to see how a character with a gangster past handles the karting courses. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is currently available on Nintendo Switch, and a build for the Nintendo Switch 2 is preparing for release.
