Hope for Gamers: Samsung Increases Memory Production

Market analysts previously warned that the era of inflated memory pricing was likely to persist for the foreseeable future.

Samsung, a global leader in DRAM manufacturing, has announced a significant expansion of its production capabilities. According to the South Korean outlet ChosunBiz, the tech giant is accelerating the construction of its P4 and P5 fabrication lines at the Pyeongtaek facility. This strategic move is intended to drastically scale up the volume of memory chip production.

For PC enthusiasts and gamers planning their next high-end build, this development offers a glimmer of hope for a return to more reasonable price points. However, immediate relief is unlikely; since construction is still in progress, tangible shifts in market dynamics are not expected until late 2026 or even 2027. While Samsung is set to begin processing new orders shortly, the real-world impact of this increased capacity will only be felt in the long term.

Additional positive momentum is coming from China, where the manufacturer CXMT is entering the high-performance memory sector—a move that could stabilize the market as early as 2026. Nevertheless, industry experts remain cautious, noting that the current landscape is complex and that premium pricing may remain a challenge for some time.
