The iconic detective Hercule Poirot is set to return to the screen in a brand-new television series. Based on Agatha Christie’s legendary literary works, the show has been officially commissioned by the BBC for a multi-season run. The project will be helmed by showrunner Benji Walters, whose previous credits include Fear the Walking Dead.
While the lead role has yet to be cast, auditions are expected to commence shortly. Production is slated to begin before the summer, with the premiere of the first season scheduled for 2027.
One of the most celebrated adaptations of Christie’s novels remains the long-running Poirot series starring David Suchet, which captivated audiences from 1989 to 2013.
In recent years, the detective has also been reimagined in a series of feature films directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh.
