Halo: Campaign Evolved to Receive Major Update, Developers Reveal Key Changes
Halo Studios will release a major update for Halo: Campaign Evolved between August 17 and August 21, addressing Sergeant Johnson’s artificial intelligence and several other bugs.
Halo Studios announced the patch to tackle the most frequent issues reported since launch, alongside requested gameplay adjustments and graphical options.
The developers highlighted five key changes:
- Fixed Sergeant Johnson’s AI behavior so he no longer blocks mission progression
- Jackals will stun more easily when hit in the arms or legs
- Marines and infected marines will correctly use assault rifles when the Magnified Skull modifier is active
- Added toggles to disable chromatic aberration and film grain effects
- Improved game stability across all supported platforms
The studio also issued a warning regarding save files. All mid-mission saves will become invalid once the update is installed. Players currently running missions, especially on higher difficulties, should complete their active levels before the patch goes live to avoid losing progress.
The update arrives as the team seeks to regain audience confidence. Despite favorable critic reviews, Halo: Campaign Evolved fell short of sales expectations, particularly on PS5.
