GTA VI Faces Graphic Downgrade Accusations Before Next Reveal

Comment Views: 7

Accusations of a graphic downgrade for GTA 6 proved unfounded following the release of a 26-minute gameplay demonstration on a base PS5.

For over a week before the official reveal, video leaks featuring early builds of the game circulated online. Due to the raw graphics, some players concluded that the final version would look worse than the initial trailers.

After the official gameplay came out, those concerns quickly vanished. The game showcased photorealistic graphics, a dense open world, and smooth performance.

Early versions of code taken out of context caused the panic. During AAA game development, lighting, final shadows, and detailed textures are often added late, meaning work-in-progress builds naturally look unfinished.

Instead of lengthy explanations, the developers simply showed nearly half an hour of finished gameplay. This situation serves as a good lesson for players, who should consider the realities of game development before judging early materials.
