GTA Creator Isn’t Giving Up — MindsEye Receives Major Update
MindsEye turned into one of the major flops of 2025. However, Leslie Benzies, the creator behind GTA 3 and GTA 5, isn’t giving up and keeps refining his project.
The studio has rolled out a substantial update for consoles and PC aimed at changing players’ impressions. Update 5 introduces Halloween-themed decorations and new missions for Arcadia mode (also known as “Play.MindsEye”). All of the additions are highlighted in the latest trailer.
The developers also addressed a number of combat-related bugs — for instance, drones no longer fly beyond the map’s borders. AI and NPC behavior is more consistent: enemies now respond properly and no longer get stuck floating mid-fight.
Visuals received attention as well — distant objects now render correctly. Vehicle controls and physics have been improved, resulting in more natural-feeling driving.
The patch is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Nonetheless, based on user feedback the fixes appear insufficient to overturn the prevailing negativity: MindsEye still holds about a 38% “mostly negative” rating on Steam.
