GTA: Carcer City Story Mod Trailer Released: Modders Merge Manhunt and GTA: San Andreas
The development team aims to weave a gritty new narrative within the bleak urban decay of Carcer City.
Modder DeadpoolMKD recently unveiled a debut trailer for “Grand Theft Auto: Carcer City,” an ambitious total conversion mod currently in development for GTA: San Andreas.
The project’s core vision is to fuse the oppressive, dark atmosphere of Manhunt with the iconic sandbox mechanics of the Grand Theft Auto franchise:
Set in the year 2001, the mod presents a fresh storyline following a former police officer dragged into the criminal underbelly of Carcer City. In a landscape where industry has collapsed, public institutions are crumbling, and ruthless gangs have seized control, survival is never a guarantee.
A playable demo for GTA: Carcer City is currently slated for release on March 9, 2026. However, the project remains at risk of legal intervention from Take-Two Interactive, whose lawyers may seek to shut down the modification.
