GTA 5 Star Auditioned 60 Times for GTA 6 Roles but Was Rejected by Rockstar

The FIB agent voice actor ultimately failed to return to the franchise.

Actor Robert Bogue, who previously worked on Grand Theft Auto V, recently shared his experience of unsuccessfully trying to secure a new role in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI.

He previously voiced Steve Haines, the corrupt Los Santos FIB agent that the main characters encounter in the storyline. To take part in GTA VI, the actor was willing to accept a role of any scale, stating that major or minor parts did not matter to him:

I’m a little bit upset with Rockstar right now. I had a great time working with them. […] I really wanted to work on GTA VI. I probably auditioned for over 60 roles. Some were big, some were very small. I didn’t care. I just wanted to be in the game. However, I didn’t get any of them, and they never called me once about those roles.

Notably, Robert Bogue has previously worked with Rockstar Games, having voiced a character in an expansion for Grand Theft Auto IV and in Red Dead Revolver. Now the actor feels like “someone who fell in love with a girl, and then she just dumped him.”

He does not know why the GTA VI developers turned him down:

I apologize for casting Rockstar in a bad light publicly by talking about the number of auditions I participated in, but that is the truth. Ultimately, an actor’s life is constant rejection. It’s just that sometimes everyone needs at least one win.

Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to release this November exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The developers have not yet announced a release date or release window for the PC version of the game.
